Praia - February 8^th, 2019 – The Prime-Minister of the Republic of Cabo Verde, the Executive Director of ECREEE and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Luxembourg, inaugurate the debut of the first seven vehicles 100% electric in Cabo Verde. This was the beginning of a process, which according to the Government of Cabo Verde, will culminate in the next decades by achieving the goal of phasing out the use of fossil-fuel based vehicles.

ECREEE, the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency and GIZ, the German Development Agency are pleased to be partners to WAPECC 2019, which is aiming to find the key strategies to unlock investment in the Power sector in the Ecowas region and boost socio-economic development.

The Government of Guinea Bissau, in partnership with UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), ECREEE (ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency) and ALER (Lusophone Association of Renewable Energies), supported by the GEF (Global Environment Facility), organized the Guinea Bissau Sustainable Energy International Conference in Bissau, Guinea Bissau, on December 6th and 7th. This event welcomed around 150 participants from Guinean public institutions, private sector, financiers, NGOs and academic institutions.
